Main Character August

For the month of August, I am planning on romanticizing/main charactering every aspect of my daily life. Instead of letting imposter syndrome settle in, I'm going to wear the clothes I want, eat the things I want, fully immerse myself in my chores and homemaking. I am going to unplug from the machine that tells me what my life *should* look like. Instead, I'm going with what I want it to look like.  I've always dreamed of a Practical Magic, Outlander, Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie, Boxcar Children lifestyle. The aesthetic of those have always been my vibe, which I guess is really just cottagecore. I have always envisioned it where I am wearing neutral/jewel-toned linen and wool fabrics, carrying a handbasket instead of a purse, knitting all my own socks, gloves, shawls and hats. Spotlight on a Missouri Business: Fox Valley Herbs

Many of you know that I really love purchasing within 100 miles of myself. I personally believe that we aren’t meant to live on such a grand scale and having items from hundreds of thousands of miles away shipped to us is just a major drain on our environment. When I ran out of my generic sleepy tea, I really wanted to purchase locally, and from a small business.

Her Sweet Slumber Tea is utterly phenomenal. It is a loose leaf tea (yay for reducing waste) that will require you to use a tea ball to steep your tea. It carries wonderful notes of lavender and chamomile that bring you into such a relaxed state. When I finished my first cup, I felt almost euphoric from the tea- something I do not receive from my generic tea. It is the perfect solution to unwinding from a long day!

Fox Valley Herbs offers a variety of other herbal products with Erin just a message away to explain her uses of each one. She even can work with you one-on-one to create a custom order for your specific needs. Her knowledge and work within the local birthing community, her love of plants and their healing principles and her innate desire to educate the community around her are just the cherries on her amazing business!
